Hawaiian Cement is a vertically integrated Commercial Cement Company materials company supplying cement, aggregate and ready-mix concrete in Hawaii. We also provide bagged masonry cement, golf course sand, decorative stone and other landscaping products and materials. Our company is a critical part of residential, commercial and public construction projects throughout the state.

Hawaiian Cement and its predecessor companies have a history of supporting the state’s construction needs going back to 1939. West Hawaii Concrete, headquartered in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island, is part of the Hawaiian Cement family and is expanding our reach considerably on the largest Hawaiian island.

Our Product and Service Divisions

Cement
We are the largest cement producer in the state of Hawaii. Cement is the key binding ingredient in ready-mix concrete. Cement is a fine powder made from limestone, clay, sand and/or shale. When cement is mixed with water, it can bind sand and gravel into a hard, solid mass called concrete. A replacement product for cement is fly ash, which is the fine ash remaining after coal is burned.

Aggregate
Hawaiian Cement is one of the state’s top three aggregate providers. Aggregate is a term for sand, gravel and crushed stone, and is the foundation of our business. Nearly 40 percent of all aggregate used in the United States goes into constructing highways and roads. Aggregate is the most abundant natural resource on earth. Crushed products are key components in the mix of asphalt and ready-mix concrete.

Ready-Mix Concrete
Hawaiian Cement is the state’s second-largest ready-mix supplier. Ready-mix concrete is the most widely used construction material in the world. Concrete is made from a mixture of cement, water, sand, gravel and crushed stone that hardens to a stone-like condition when dry. From the simple residential sidewalk to the most technical of high-performance mix designs, we can meet the demand of any concrete requirement.

Colored Concrete Products
